What People Are Saying
Here are some comments about our school from students, families, friends and staff:
It’s great to work in a school where:
- students negotiate for more math time before lunch
- there is a supportive family-like atmosphere where you know everyone by name
- success is not just measured by grades, but also by contributing to Westside’s spiritual community
- parent volunteers are so valued

My favourite Westside moment was when we were walking the primary students to the UBC aquatic center for their swimming lessons. It was grey and pouring rain. All of a sudden, they started singing praise songs they had learned in choir. Imagine 15 soggy children singing at the top of their lungs as they walked through the campus. What a picture!

It’s a safe place where people feel like they can be themselves.

I think WCS is a very nice Christian Community and my friends are very nice because they care for me and I care for them. WCS is a great place to be!

WCS is the best school I’ve ever been to. The friends and teachers are very kind, friendly and welcoming. This school makes me want to learn more academically and spiritually.

Westside Christian School has been a life- changing place for our three children. Not only have they had the support and friendship of a wide range of Christian friends, they have had every subject taught to them from a Godly perspective. They were encouraged to shine in their own areas of gifting while supported in areas that they faced challenges. My children love going to school.

Westside was an amazing part of my growing and mentoring both in education and faith for my six years here. It is a loving and caring environment where I felt challenged to go beyond the bounds I had set for myself. I am so proud to have been a part of such an incredible school.

Ever since I started attending Westside I have been part of a community that allows me to be accepted and loved for who I am. I wouldn’t be who I am today without this school and the community it has given me for life.

My husband and I have 3 children, 2 of which are attending the school. We really appreciate the multi-age class environment and the community feel of the school. We think there is something really healthy when you see the teen-agers interacting with the primary aged children on the playground. Our children love it at Westside.
