Megan Heise - Kindergarten Teacher
Megan graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Arts focusing in Aboriginal History in 2009. She completed her Bachelor of Education in elementary education from UBC in 2011. While completing her B.Ed Megan was a member of the teaching from the heART cohort, which emphasized using all of the arts to engage the imagination across the curriculum as well as works with Artists in Residence in schools. Megan’s hobbies include writing and performing music and baking! She is also an avid sports enthusiast playing any sport she can from field hockey, softball, soccer, and basketball to tennis!
Megan believes that god has made all children unique and they come to school with gifts and talents to be developed. She is excited for the opportunity to help guide students at Westside Christian on their spiritual and academic journeys, as well as encourage them to explore the world and see God's glory at work.

Jodie Wong – Primary Class Teacher
Jodie graduated from the University of British Columbia with her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2009 and her Bachelor of Education degree in 2010. She loves teaching primary and taught Grades 2 and 3 during her practicum in the Vancouver school district. She has worked with children of different ages at her church Vacation Bible Camps and Sunday Schools and has worked in a children’s outreach camp in East Vancouver.
Jodie believes that every student has different talents and different ways of learning and will strive to provide a variety of opportunities where each student can excel academically and spiritually. She looks forward to working with the staff and parents at Westside Christian School and is excited and open to see how God will reveal His glory in the upcoming year.

Emily Scale – Intermediate Class Teacher
Emily graduated from UBC in 2008 with a bachelor of arts, majoring in Religious Studies/Film. She received an outstanding practicum award and two scholarships for her Bachelor of education degree. Emily has taught in a variety of settings such as Stride Elementary (an inner city community school), teaching on call (Vancouver and Richmond school districts) and rural government schools in Uganda, Africa. She is an art enthusiast that incorporates media art/drama in the classroom with the hope of engaging all students. Her personal interests lie in religious history, mythology, creative writing, character drawing, animation and playing/coaching tennis.
Emily believes each individual has unique gifts and is passionate about helping students discover those gifts and develop a life long relationship with God that is real and steadfast. She is thrilled and blessed to be at such a beautifully inclusive school such as Westside Christian.

Jeanine Wasik – Senior Class Teacher
Jeanine graduated from the University of British Columbia with her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2008 and her Bachelor of Education degree in 2009. She taught in the Vancouver and North Vancouver school districts until January 2010. She also has experience teaching international students in Vancouver, Mexico and Japan, in addition to teaching in an English immersion school in Quebec City. She enjoys travelling with her husband Adam and she believes that we are equipped to love and serve one another for the betterment of the world through the Holy Spirit working within us. She loves teaching grades 6-9 and was overjoyed when the Lord provided the opportunity to journey with this group of students at Westside Christian School.
